Rediscovering myself through the lens
Not.Quite.There is a photography project born out of the need to find myself after having my first child. After getting lost in the madness that comes with becoming a new parent, I struggled to reconnect with photography.
Whilst this is nothing new, I’ve been in and out of photography over the years, shifting focus between disciplines such as fashion, street, automotive and general lifestyle, I wanted to find a way back to my camera, to find my photographic eye again and to have a creative outlet once more.
At first, I had a very strict and clearly defined brief for this project, but I found it became more of a barrier than its intended purpose of giving me a clear reason for creating photographs. The original brief was for an anonymous project that captured moments and boundaries. The primary rule was simple: every image must contain an edge, a doorway, shadow line, kerb, frame, boundary, horizon, wall corner, or a split in a path.
Whilst the original brief still resonates with me, I’m not quite there yet. Instead, I want to create a dedicated space for my photography, somewhere to build a body of work and give myself space to reflect.
So this is that space. A quiet corner for me to reconnect with photography in whatever way feels natural in the moment. No rules. No commitments. No expectations. Just space.
